Homemade Peanut Butter


Prep Notes

Just crushed peanuts, that's it.

Ingredients

  • 500 g roasted peanuts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • high power blender such as Vitamix with tamper stick (you could use any other method to grind it, such as food processor but it'll take more time, scraping and nerves)

Directions

  1. Put the peanuts in the blender, add salt and grind until smooth or to your preferred consistency. It will go through a dry powder stage, then it starts to stick and release oil, then finally becoming more liquid. In Vitamix this takes a minute or two.
  2. Transfer to a clean jar and store in a dry place indefinitely.
  3. Over time oil may separate on top - use it as peanut oil or stir it back in before use.
